Jian (Jerry) Hong

Jerry Hong has more than 20 years’ experience in the automotive industry, focusing on global business development, overseas M&A, and technology partnerships and investments. He is highly trained in executive skills of strategic thinking, problem-solving, communication and decision-making.

Before joining Ascend, he was the vice president of SAIC Europe, which is the European investment arm and European HQ of SAIC Motors, the largest OEM in China and #7 worldwide. Jerry was in charge of all business development and investment activities in Europe. He was the key executive member who developed SAIC’s European business strategy.

Jerry has managed international businesses across the US and Europe. During his career, Jerry created solid foundations of international businesses, including sourcing, sales, business development, M&A, direct investment and venture investment. He is experienced in the entire journey from partnering and investing with European and US players in China, to investing in European companies from China investors.

Jerry Hong has a Masters degree of Business Administration of Olin school of Business, Washington University in St. Louis and a Bachelor’s degree of Computer Science and Technology.
