Matthew Mu

Vice President

Matthew has over 13 years’ experience in investment, financing and management consulting. His focus has been on high-tech driven companies with cross-border potential in the mobility and medtech industries.

Matthew joined Ascend Capital Partners in 2010, where he participated in numerous overseas M&A projects, including assisting China Aerospace Science and Industry (CASIC) in acquiring IEE SA, a global leader sensing technology products and solutions headquartered in Luxembourg. He also worked with the parent company of a Chinese listed company acquiring a Korean apparel company. Matthew has also participated in dozens of private equity finance and investing projects.

Matthew’s experiences has given him familiarity on how to assist overseas companies to achieve success in Chinese markets. His strengths are in trend analysis and market research.

Prior to joining Ascend, Matthew had 2 years’ hands-on working experience at Adfaith as a management consultant.

Matthew holds a master degree in Finance & Economic Policy from the University of Glasgow (UK).
